Portraits
At Geoffrey Rickaby Photography I have dozens of unique and creative ways to take your portrait. The first question we will ask is where you want the portrait taken? Many don’t consider having their portrait taken outside! Even winter can provide a fantastic setting! There are a lot of reasons to get a family portrait: to celebrate a new arrival, to send to friends and loved ones, to display in your home, to commemorate special events. I will be happy to work with you and your family to create something that you’ll treasure for years.
Why outside?
Nature provides the best settings and backgrounds in the world. No indoor setting can beat what nature has to offer. I can either recommend a location or we will meet you at the location of your choice (within a 25 miles of Mayville. Further distances require an additional $.50 per mile).
What type of portraits do you shoot?
On Location: (Your home or other outside location we can recommend or a location of your choice.) below is a list of the normal portrait sessions I shoot.
- Family
- Teens
- Couples
- Children
- Singles
- Best Friends
Trash The Dress
What is this you ask? Well ladies when you wed your soul mate you have no more use for the virgin white wedding dress so why not trash it? What this session involves is your wedding dress, usually after you get back from your honeymoon, and an ocean, lake, pond, marsh, or a mud puddle whichever body of water you want to Trash Your Dress in. This is a great way to show your husband how committed you are and get some great photographs from it.
Geoffrey Rickaby Photography uses professional digital equipment which allows for easy retouching and quick viewing. After the session, we will retouch your images, showing you examples in black and white, sepia, other color tones (blue, brown, red, etc.) as well as other artistic looks. We will also take away any blemishes; whiten teeth and eyes as necessary if requested.
Ladies,
Go ahead, you know you want to. Trash it. Get it dirty. Get it wet. Roll around in the mud. Drench it in the ocean. Totally trash it.
Why? …Why not? You’ve made a commitment to your husband. He’s your one and only true love, right? Then you’ll never need the dress again. And no, your daughter won’t wear it in 20-30 years.
So you have two choices:
1) Suffocate it in plastic and throw it in a closet.
2) Show your husband how committed you are by trashing the dress, and get some great fun pictures while you do it!
Ok lets get serious.
There is nothing traditional about trashing the dress.
We can do it as much or as little as you want.
One thing I can promise you, it is fun and there is a good chance your daughter will absolutely love your pictures in 20-30 years.
Sessions are usually scheduled right after you come back from your honeymoon and if you decide to include your hubby he does not need a toxido. White shirt and jeans will do.
